NAWJU Gets New President

The National Association of Women Judges in Uganda (NAWJU) on Saturday May 18, 2018 held its Extraordinary Annual General Meeting at Judicial Training Institute,Nakawa-Kampala, in which it elected High Court's Hon. Lady Justice Henrietta Wolayo as president.
She replaces Supreme Court's Hon. Lady Justice Esther Kisaakye who resigned the position earlier in the year.
The well attended EOAGM also elected another High Court's Hon. Lady Justice Elizabeth Jane Alividza as Vice President; Supreme Court's Hon. Lady Justice Stella Arach-Amoko (representative of NAWJU founder members); and Magistrate GI, HW Roseline Nsenge (Publicity Secretary).
Others included: HW Janeva Natukunda (representative of Chief Magistrates); HW Patience Tukundane (second representative for Magistrates Grade One) HW Fortunate Kamukama (representative for Magistrates Grade Two).
The meeting saw the amendment of the NAWJU Constitution; to include provision for situations where an executive member resigns suddenly before completion of their term of office as well as circumstances relating to an incapacitated or dead executive member.
